June and July

We attended the Ascot Races again this year, however, the weather wasn't in our favour and it was freezing! We made the best of the day though and enjoyed our picnic. The girls sat on our picnic blanket and found shelter from the wind as the boys stood around us.

Ken and I

My friend from university Debbie was in London and her and her boyfriend joined us at the races.

Jess was living in our attic at the time after arriving in London the month before and also joined us at the races.

The following weekend delivered 'the best night of Ken's life' when he got to see Pearl Jam live in Hyde Park. We all took the Friday afternoon off work and made our way to Hyde Park and found a spot for the concert. Eddie made his first appearance singing a duet with opening act Ben Harper, not long after him and Pearl Jam graced the stage.

It was an amazing concert and Lauren and I really enjoyed hearing the songs live rather than being butchered by the boys in the early hours of the morning!

A couple of weekends later it was my birthday and I organised drinks the night before at a local bar. It had been 30 degrees that day and was extremely hot, that night the low was 25 degrees!

The next day Ken had planned a day out. It was a stunning say and was 32 degrees (a novelty for someone who usually has a winter birthday). We caught a boat from Wesminster and went down the Thames River to Kew. We had intended on going to the Kew Gardens but it was so hot, we opted for iceblocks in the shade by the river and catching the train home. That night we went out for dinner at a quirky wee place around the corner from our flat.
